ACE History

In January of 2003, several women with children who had special needs began to discuss and pray about starting a school for their children. This vision found fertile soil in which to grow within its campus located at the University United Methodist Church.

In 2007, the school received full accreditation by the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC) through its accrediting agency ICAA (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) as an accredited, non-public school. AdvancED accreditation followed in 2012. ACE is the only accredited private school in TEPSAC’s San Antonio region designed to serve children with special needs who are more than two (2) years behind grade appropriate level in at least one subject. Accreditation allows for student credits from ACE to be transferred to any Texas public school and affords its students the opportunity to receive a high school diploma from an accredited school.

Achievers Center for Education (ACE) exists today because of the faithfulness of parents who were led to establish this non-profit school for students with special needs. Their vision was to create a learning environment that offers opportunities for students to grow academically, addresses personal learning styles, promotes independence, self-esteem, and prepares students to live a meaningful and productive life that will allow them to shine!
